Training Philosophy

Our Philosophy:

We use a relationship centered, play based approach. We want to WANT to train and work. It should be fun for BOTH of you. Dogs naturally learn through play. And if used well…. Play can teach them MOST of what they need to learn. Obedience will also be needed…. But we prefer to teach it in the context of a game. And use Play as the motivational engine to drive the behaviors. We do not use pain as a strategy in training. In our favorite dogs….. They wouldn’t notice it anyway. So we find other ways.

Here is our free Foundations Lesson Plan (client)

If you are interested in training with us in any capacity…. This is where you start.

I am interested in talking to you about starting some training with my 7 month old Pitboxer mix. Mark Abdallah recommended you. He takes both my dogs on weekly adventures with Adventure Dog.

Hi Jay. I went to your seminar last night and was very impressed. Great explainations of pitbull behavior and how to communicate with our companions. The way you described your relationship with your dogs was highly encouraging and motivational for me. It is exactly what I want in my relationship with my pitbull. She is an awesome dog, but I feel like I have let her down by not doing enough to understand and build my relationship with her. We have been facing some challenges lately and I have been looking for help to get us to the next level where Gypsy can have the freedom and companionship she deserves. I’m not sure where to start though as I feel like I need to completly rethink my whole understanding of what it means to be an owner of a pitbull. I would be interested in the skype training if it is available, but am going to start by reading your blogs. Anyways, thank you for coming to Regina (I bet u heard all the jokes about our city name). I am motivated and excited to learn more and get my pitbull to the next level. Thanks again Jay.
